Lars Iyer launches his new novel, DOGMA, on 22 February
Posted: February 9, 2012 Filed under: Uncategorized 1 Comment »The Wapping Project Bookshop is very excited to be hosting the launch of DOGMA, a new novel from the brilliant Lars Iyer. Lars will be joined by the Guardian‘s Sam Jordison for a conversation about the new novel, its predecessor – the much-lauded Spurious – and all things literary. If the last time that these two appeared together in front of an audience (at a panel discussion on the Not The Booker Prize) is any guide then this promises to be a more than usually animated conversation, with the involvement of the audience much encouraged. Please arrive at 7pm on Wednesday 22nd February for a 7.30pm start. Dogma succeeds Spurious (2011), and chronicles the continued misadventures of that novel’s two outrageous, drunken, philosophising “heroes” as they confront a plague of rats, go on an ill-fated trip to the American South and form a quasi-religious code called “Dogma” to give new meaning to their ridiculous lives.
Please be aware that the conversation will be held in the Wapping Project’s main exhibition space, which is likely to be quite cold so please do wrap up. Wine will be served in the altogether warmer restaurant. To reserve your place and for more information please contact me at shop@thewappingproject.
PRAISE FOR SPURIOUS
“It’s wonderful. I’d recommend the book for its insults alone.”
— Sam Jordison, The Guardian
“Fearsomely funny.”
